The joint-stock company ‘’Bagrationi 1882’’ is a member of GS1 Georgia. The naming of the company comes from a member of the royal family, Ivane Bagration-Mukhraneli. He was the first man to produce sparkling wine in Georgia. His sparkling wine won an international competition in 1882. So, the name of the company comes from the first producer of sparkling wine and 1882 is the year of its triumph. The majority of ‘’Bagrationi 1822’’ vineyards are cultivated in the regions of Kartli and Imereti. In producing sparkling wine, Georgian grape breeds are used, such as Goruli mtsvane, Chinuri(Chinebuli), Tavkveri, Tsitska, Rkatsiteli, Saperavi. The company uses two major technologies for producing wine: the traditional French and the reservoir method. Traditional is a method when secondary boiling of wine is held in the bottle.
